Please join us for Family Yoga at Gemmil Park!  Wednesday mornings through the summer from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

(Every Wednesday July 11th – August 29th, except Wednesday, August 15th – there will be no yoga August 15th)

Amber Young and Lindsey Lambden are teaming up to offer this family friendly, pay what you can yoga, to help bring our amazing community together and bring this amazing practice to people of all ages through the summer months.  A combination of mindfulness techniques, cooperative games, storytelling through yoga, basic postures, and lots of laughter.  Please call the studio at 613-451-2891, or email info@risingsunyoga.ca to find out more information, registration is not necessary, just stop by the park Wednesday mornings.  The yoga practices will be suitable for seasoned yogi’s and those new to yoga – accessible to all generations. All you need is  a willingness to have some fun!  Mats are optional, as the grass provides a nice foundation to practice from.

If you drive into Gemmil by the swings, pass the skate park and tennis courts (on your right), keep driving or walking past the running track – you will find us at the end of that drive way  – located to the left of the canteen just after the running track.  We sure hope to see you there.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Karma class Friday July 13th and helped us raise over $300 for Tour for Kids.  One of our amazing teachers, Lynne Jenkins, is participating in the tour for kids this summer, a 3 day cycling event,  and we want to help her make a difference for these families.

Tour for kids raises funds and awareness for programs at three amazing kids cancer camps in Ontario:  Camp Trillium, Camp Ooch, and Camp Quality.  These programs rely on donations such as yours to carry on their essential programs for families dealing with their child’s cancer diagnosis.  As more children survive childhood cancer, social interaction with peers and being able to manage day to day activities with limited mobility is key to success of their continued development.

“Cancer camp, is not just fun or just camp – it is a way of delivering care to children and families with childhood cancer.”  Quite simply, camp is good medicine.

Lynne will be riding 100km / day over 3 days in August for the thousands of kids and teens living with the long term effects of childhood cancer.

Please help us raise funds and support Lynne for kids’ cancer camps in Ontario by attending this very special class.  Lynne will be leading a revitalizing kundalini yoga class.  These Ontario camps play an integral part in healing for kids with cancer and their families. They allow kids to just be kids for a week. It costs $1,500.00 per child per week and these camps do not get any government funding.

Donations of any size are gratefully accepted (suggested amount $10). Donations of $20 or more made out to “Tour for Kids” will receive a tax receipt.

If you missed Lynne’s class and would still like to donate online, here is the link:

https://tourforkidsontario.greatfeats.com/lynne-jenkins

100% of your donation goes directly to the camps!

What is a karma class?? The teacher donates their time and their teachings, the studio donates their space, and you (the student) donate what you can (no donation is too small) in support of local causes and community support. A beautiful gift of your practice and our teaching, connecting us through kindness.

Stay tuned for more special events over the next few months

We also rent out our beautiful space if you have a workshop or special event you’d like to host.  Please contact the studio at 613-451-2891 or email info@risingsunyoga.ca for more details
