Pilates and Yoga

A strong core is essential for everyday movement, from picking up kids, carrying groceries, to lifting kayaks onto cars! Pilates is a core strengthening discipline that strengthens the back, hips, and abdominal muscles. Maintaining a neutral spine during specific exercises, students will gain strength in the core muscles, an increase in flexibility, improved posture and balance. Kundalini exercises focusing on the navel point will also be incorporated into this class. Pilates and Yoga class is suitable for everyone. No experience is necessary.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is simply that – restorative. It is the centering of your breath and body – aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. The practice is about returning to your true nature, that place of infinite calm that lies deep within each of us – complete ease – where we can truly let go and heal. With each posture we drop deeper and deeper into that reservoir of calm available within each of us.
Restorative yoga is a passive, gentle style of yoga using props to support the body for longer holds. We start with some gentle movement and stretching and then progress into the supported restorative postures.  The poses are usually lying down or seated postures using blankets, bolsters, and blocks. It is a very relaxing form of yoga which will complement your active practice.

Is a spiritual practice that is a self discipline of the mind and body to serve the soul.  In Kundalini yoga it most often refers to the practice done during the 2 1/2 hours before the rising of the sun. It operates under the principle of karma:  that whatever you give comes back tenfold, so with 2 1/2 hours given to the Divine or spiritual practice, then you are covered for the entire day and then some with blessings.  The angle of the sun to the earth during this time is also very fortuitous and our biorhytms are ideal for cleansing the body and mind.  Take this special time for yourself when others are still in bed and you will reap enormous benefits! Gong for Charity

We will hold special gong sessions where all proceeds are donated to a chosen charity. We ask participants to donate $10 per person.

The session starts with a very gentle warm up that prepares the body to receive the healing vibrations of the gong. After the warm up you lie on your mat and get into a comfortable position, with the aid of blankets or bolsters, and listen to the ancient sound current of the gong for 45 minutes or so. A short meditation follows the gong to ensure grounding.
